elcome to my first newsletter! I have been mulling over ways to smoothly combine my journal posts / new entries / general updates, as well as be able to add commentary to said entries in a way that doesn't ruin the meticulously grid-like VIBE!! of my site. Unfortunately, my mind is cursed by the square and if things on this site don't line up correctly, I fear I am left with no other option but to destroy it.Now for the real news of the letter...

e are back at it again with the pokemon style neopet sprites! Lupe was really hard to do, and honestly, I don't know if I am entirely happy with how he came out. The more sprites that I finish the more I can look back and nit pick something wrong with everything. I am worried they are becoming less and less cohesive as I finish them. However... we must press on... I will try to say something positive so I will comment that I like the way his snout scruff came out, especially with so little pixels to work with.
***BREAKING NEWS*** this morning I was gifted with the power of INSPIRATION and churned out another neopet. Since it is still October I figure I would just amend this into the post... So here is Uni. It was strangely difficult to find a picture of the basic color variations? Either way, drawing out Uni went way smoother than Lupe. Hooray!

nother pixelart creation I finished is this cute little ripped paper border, as you can see I am using for newsletter stuff... I might make a bigger one since this one doesn't scale up too great in my opinion, but it will do for now.

t is Halloween!!! I really wish I had something cool prepared, but I just did not have time this month. Christmas is like right there so maybe I will combine it into a Belated Spooky Christmas special. Or just do nothing, I am very lazy.

therwise, in honor of Halloween, I will be listing my top 5 favorite Ween songs.- Ocean Man // I am a spongebob kid, so...
- It's Gonna Be a Long Night // this one is very fun and makes me want to throw things
- Mutilated Lips // this one has a very catchy hook? or whatever that one part of the song is called
- Exactly Where I'm At // stare at wall music
- A Tear For Eddie // seemingly first song I heard from them before realizing ocean man is by Ween

or probably the most eventful part of this month, I got married!!! I won't share too much because its none of your business, but it went great, saw all the family, had a pretty venue, my dad brought pig and we had bbq. I made all the bouquets using dried flowers from whole foods and hobby lobby, plus some mushrooms that I skewered and dehydrated. The dress was kinda diy-ed with a department store dress (lol), arm sleeve things, tights, and a cape. Also I got these TALL ass heels that made me like 5'10, which I am now discovering maybe I have been a tall-shoe person all along.

y husband got a scam suit at first (I'm sorry but it was really funny) but ~Online Shopping~ came in clutch last minute and he got a really nice tweed suit just in time. That was honestly kind of the theme of the whole weekend, where everything would come together last minute. (Kind of the theme of our lives, too...) Either way it was so fun. It is such an honor to see how far family and friends will travel to see you for just one special day. We are both really lucky people. I originally just wanted to elope, so I am glad that we stuck it out for a proper wedding.Cooking

his month has had some ups and downs for cooking. To start, I made this mac and cheese, which is always a win, because it always comes out good and mac and cheese makes me happy. I used an online recipe that we like, then added bacon and cauliflower. Another win was getting a wayyy better chicken and rice recipe to replace my old one, which is game changing because we eat a lot of chicken and rice (the economy...).

ow for some BLUNDERS! I don't know what it is but I genuinely just can't get a proper food photo. I have greatly underappreciated the ancient art of Food Photography. My lasagna picture makes it look a centimeter tall, and the mac and cheese looks... mid. I swear it is really good. Part of me wants to embrace the cursed photography and just go full on with the phone flash in a dark room with a crusty toe in the background. My Recipes collection is mostly up to date except for the photos. It is incredibly hard to remember a photo when dinner just finished and I am starving.

nother blunder though, was this last sunday dinner! I haven't roasted a whole chicken in a hot minute, as we have been on a chicken thigh kick (the economy...). I was so excited to do one, but totally forgot how I used to prepare and cook a whole chicken. So to make a long story short, I was unprepared, dishes did not sync up as planned, and I cooked my yorkshire puddings at 350 instead of 450!!! I had to take them out and basically double bake them so they would properly brown. It was definitely not my best dinner, but at the same time... it still came out decent enough. But man is it a shame when you pull out one dish after another and everything is just slightly off. Plus, we didn't get to eat until like 9.
